Illegal dumping is an issue throughout New Mexico. In the southeast region, the scope of the problem is too large for any one agency or organization. The Southeast New Mexico Illegal Dumping Partnership (SENM IDP) was created to resolve this issue by bringing agencies and organizations together and pooling resources to inspire, educate the public, and protect and restore the environment for future generations.
Illegal dumping affects communities in various ways. Not only is it a health and safety hazard, it is an economic drain on agencies and community stakeholders. The SENM IDP's main objective is to create cumulative, long-term environmental and economic benefits for southeastern New Mexico.
With this mission in mind, the SENM IDP developed and deployed a regional hotline for the public to report illegal dumping.
To report illegal dumping, please call the hotline at 1-844-496-5509
The City of Artesia is glad to be a partner in the Southeast New Mexico Illegal Dumping Partnership along with other municipalities, counties, agencies, and organizations.
